Our 5th Grade students became young scientists during their “Amber Fossil Experiment” under the Transdisciplinary Theme Where We Are in Place and Time! 🦖✨
Students created Play-Doh animals and explored how organisms can be preserved over time. They mixed gelatine with hot water to represent tree resin, added color, placed their insects inside plastic cups, and observed how the “resin” transformed into amber after cooling for 24 hours. 🧪🍯
Through this hands-on inquiry, students connected with the concepts of Evidence, History, Evolution, and Transformation, discovering how fossils and amber help us learn about life and cultural evolution from the past. 🌍🔍
